Now that you know the numerical value for each letter, you can begin calculating your Gematria sum: simply add up all the individual numbers for each letter in your phrase or word. If there are two of the same letter next to each other, then once again simply double the numbers involved and add them together - this is because two letters count more than one and thus their numerical value increases exponentially. For example: if we were looking at 'אא' (Aleph Aleph), then this would be counted as 2 + 2, making 4 as our calculated sum.
